The breakdown of parent-child relationship is closely linked to a host of critical social issues - poverty and income, overall child well-being, out-of-wedlock births, crime, father absenteeism, health issues, education, child welfare, and risky behavior. If more children were raised by parents with effective parenting skills, we would see a significant reduction in a host of social problems afflicting children in the United States, from school failure and crime to child abuse and neglect.  As a matter of fact:
