Preventing Child Abuse Before It Happens
Birth2Eighteen is a core parenting improvement program of Indiana Parenting Institute. It helps parents learn and use age appropriate behavior skills to parent children from birth2eighteen years that is less reliant upon coercive (harsh) discipline techniques in getting the child to be cooperative.
This approach prevents disciplinary/corrective intent that could result in abuse and protects the wellbeing of the child and and the parent, and the preservation of the family. The intent is to prevent abuse and neglect before it happens.
The goal is to improve child-rearing competencies, strengthen family relationships, and prevent risk of child abuse and neglect through three focused areas of need: family support, education and training, and connecting parents with information and resources to facilitate family wellbeing.
This parenting improvement program is recommend for parents in need and those at risk. This program is ideally suited for parents, grandparents, caregivers, foster parents, new parents, parents in transition from homeless or substance abuse, parents seeking to reconnect with their children, and some simply looking for the way to a better life.
